If the wart is making you feel self-conscious -- you know, hiding your feet in tennis shoes all summer -- then seeking the assistance of a dermatologist in Colorado Springs, CO, could benefit you. You can wear the shoes you love and not risk people staring at your feet.
Warts are caused by the human papillomavirus, more commonly known as HPV. In many cases, your immune system will fight them off within a few months up to two years. For some people, however, they won't clear up during this time. So, if you're noticing a wart that isn't going away, you should seek out the care of a dermatologist to remove it because, chances are, it isn't going to go away if it hasn't already.
You may also want to seek out the care of a specialist if you're tired of waiting for it to go away.
More than one wart means that the virus is spreading. You can nip this in the bud by getting the warts removed.
While not all warts are painful, one can cause pain. In this case, get care for the problem so you can stop the discomfort. This is especially the case if you're noticing the pain whenever you walk or stand.
A standard wart doesn't bleed unless you damage it in some way. If you have one that's bleeding, it could indicate another problem besides a standard wart.
Once a wart appears, it doesn't tend to change shape, size, or color. Visit a dermatologist if you're noticing the wart is changing. In this case, it may not be a wart.
If you have a weak immune system or diabetes, your body may not fight off the virus that causes warts. For this reason, they won't go away. But, a dermatologist can remove them.
